Position Responsibilities:
Design Research Management:
Manage overall DR team timeline and communicate high-level project assignments, including weekly hours to DR team
Work with job-specific project & account managers to monitor burns on VA Design Research project, and adjust resource utilization accordingly to ensure that projects come in on time and on budget
Work with job-specific project & account managers to track the progress of all deliverables for VA DR scope and ensure on-schedule delivery
Organize and lead VA DR team check-ins and facilitate communication among VA DR team members, in conjunction with Senior Director, VA Experience Team and the Program Manager
Maintain open communication with VA Design Research team members throughout each Design Research scope
Oversee project team needs and ensure team has support of designers/writers to accomplish deliverables
Collaborate with Senior Director, VA Experience Team on all aspects of conceptual DR work including DR project/team strategy
Participate in internal and client kick-off calls for all VA Design Research team projects
Contribute input on projected allocation of VA Design Research team resource hours during bidding and proposal process for all VA Design Research scopes
Maintain contact with VA Project Program Manager (and, where applicable, VA Company's Finance and Operations) to ensure they have up-to-date information on status of all Design Research projects and inform them when DR scopes are wrapped
Work with any new VA project managers and/or junior project managers to train them on Design Research management tasks and approach
Required Experience and Skill Set:
Strong interpersonal skills
Proven excellence in written and oral communication skills
Complete computer literacy (especially with Mac environment and Google Apps)
5-10 years of direct work experience in one of the following fields: production, marketing, health care, and/or advertising
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Demonstrated experience in personnel management
Ability to build, maintain and forecast budgets of varying complexities and scales
Experience using a companywide project management application to manage team time and tasks
